Dear Diary...
Interview
vendredi 13 mars 2009

We had the interviews in school today. :)

It was fruitful, not as in I managed to see who can get what post, but it was more of an insight for me into their lives.

I cannot describe the sense of satisfaction I felt when I saw the cadet sit there for the interview. I think I can say that I watched him "grow up". I was sec 2 then and he was sec 1. I was his Orientation Group's Facilitator, and well, it just happened. And now, 2 years later here we are, sitting in this room. Him all grown up, and me ready to step down. He'll go far. I think that's the kind of feeling a father gets when he sees his son so capable and successful. It's heartening and endearing.

And then I also saw the degree of maturity these young gentlemen possess, especially one. At a tender age of 14, he is going through a series of trials and tribulations. I do not think any child should go through all these, but he has proven himself to be a man at a boy's age. damn proud of him. Didn't know him as long as the other cadet I mentioned just now, but long enough to know him decently well. He left an impression on me as a cheerful, easy-going, playful boy in PB and in NCC air, but today, he tore down this image and replaced it with the image of a man, a man that is taking the responsibility of keeping his family going. I take my hat off him. 十分佩服. If you're seeing this, I think you know who you are. I hope you will know that we only have your well-being in mind. I wish you all the best in your future endeavours. And I believe you will do well in life with the attitude you possess. You have shown the man in you. And that coming from me, it is definitely credible. Good luck.

I asked less than 7 questions today. 3 reasons for doing so.

1. I saw now point in asking anymore questions. I felt many questions asked were irrelevant. I think i said one to poke fun too. And also to see his reaction. He was quite calm, by the way.

2. What everyone said made it hard for me to continue asking anymore questions.

3. I just saw no point in asking anymore. I already have the list in mind.

There's this cadet I once doubted who proven his worth to me recently. Shan't name him, and I don't think I am allowed to anyway. He's capable. I saw it. Really. The unit should do well in their hands.
