Dear Diary...
Combined Band Concert : Faith, Hope and Love II
dimanche 30 novembre 2008

Went to the IT fair yesterday with Wei Kit.
Guess what he was wearing... :S
Thank god he wasn't wearing slippers with what he wore...

Went around scouting for earphones, but erm, to no avail. Played around with the Macs and squeezed through the crowd. I wonder how many times Wei Kit's bag was knocked off his shoulder. Lol. He was fairly pissed.

Lunch at some foodcourt(?). Before we headed of to HMV @ Citylink mall. Went to find Taylor Swift's Fearless. STILL NOT OUT YET. Should I order it online? If i pre-ordered it on her website, I would already be listening to White Horse by now. :(

Went home. Let Wei Kit play CS on my comp. Took turns haha. Before changing and heading of for BLK 163. we missed the bus stop. again. :( Combined band concert was great. Loved our school's one best. haha. :) So energetic and lively. I also like the one with the Santa Claus hats. haha. Very funny. Ho Ho Ho. The finale was...indescribable (my vocabulary is just too limited). Dinner at Macs. Ran for the lift with a full stomach....

Merry Christmas. :)

Close up :)

Finale! everyone's singing. haha.

BUMPY RIDE WEI KIT. STRAP ON YOUR SEATBELT. lol.
Ok that's all. Back to posting for Macau....

Have fun at camp pin, wk and ben.

Dear Diary...
Part II
samedi 29 novembre 2008

I'm a little reluctant to do this post.
Cos i know when i start, i can't stop.
And this one will be long. Argh.

Shall I not post...haha.
I think i'll just spam the pictures at the end of the post.
Ok here goes...
in chronological order...

A bit cold at night there. Cabbed to Metropark Hotel. Had dinner at Charming Gourmet restaurant, right beside our hotel. :) SLEEP.

Day 2 - 25/11/08
Yawn. Wake up. breakfast buffet at the Ciao restaurant in our hotel. Went to Fisherman's Wharf that morning-afternoon. Many themes in that little area. There's the tang dynasty, Rome, New Orleans etc etc...
Took a shuttle bus to The Venetian Hotel-Casino for lunch. haha. got a central canal and artificial sky. Preetaye. I love the ceiling. Tired. Went back to the hotel. had lunch at another restaurant nearby. haha. Mum brought grandma out to..GAMBLE. HAHA.

Day 3 - 26/11/08
Went to the St Mark's Ruins. haha. Nothing much lah there. Bought souvenirs for frens. you know who u are... Had lunch at a small shophouse(?) for lunch. Later on, we went to Wynn Casino-hotel for some performance haha. very nice. (but my mum's memory card now something wrong, so i can only show you 1 of 2 videos i have of it, which is the one from my own camera) had dinner at the ferry terminal. Portuguese pork chop burger!

Day 4 - 27/11/08 Coming home lo... :) Went to Macau tower. bought my bungee tee and BUNGEE BEAR. (I call him hackett). haha. Later went to the ah-ma temple. before heading back for home. haha. :)

In conclusion, Macau is a pretty small place. haha. :) You can get around easily via the free shuttle buses of various Casinos. So you can really avoid taking public transport or even cabs. haha. The people there a really helpful. especially the cab drivers, and the hotel staff. haha. Internet cafe! haha. Ok that's all. peektures? a lot leh. put the video first. haha

Dear Diary...
奥门之旅!
vendredi 28 novembre 2008

:) Home!

Got back home at around 1am this morning. :D.

So here I am blogging about my Macau trip. :0 This post will go like this. Part I will be something like photojournalism. Part II will just be a casual post. :) ENJOY! :D HAHA.

Part I

The view of Fisherman's Wharf from afar. Fisherman's wharf is a tourist attraction in Macau, featuring themes based on various countries, such as Rome, China and New Orleans. [Nikon E5900. 15mm Focal Length. F/6.3 . Exposure 1/417. ISO-64 . ]

Vulcania, a volcano themed area within Fisherman's wharf. Visitors can climb to the top of the man-made volcano and enjoy a spectacular view of the city of Macau. [Nikon E5900. 8mm Focal Length. F/4.8 . Exposure 1/1825. ISO-64 . ]

Volcano Archive, part of the Vulcania exhibit. Features a miniature town, complete with lamps, furniture and windows. No people though. [Nikon E5900. 8mm Focal Length. F/4.8 . Exposure 1/400. ISO-64 . ]

Truly a city of contradictions. Seen here is slum housing and a Casino-hotel, built right beside each other, further emphasising the huge difference between the rich and poor in Macau. [Nikon E5900. 8mm Focal Length. F/4.8 . Exposure 1/672. ISO-64 . ]

The Chinese Themed area in Fisherman's wharf, featuring architecture of the Tang Dynasty. [Nikon E5900. 8mm Focal Length. F/4.8 . Exposure 1/1276. ISO-64 . ]

Overview of Fisherman's wharf, with Sands, one of the City's largest casino-hotel in the background. [Nikon E5900. 8mm Focal Length. F/4.8 . Exposure 1/1200. ISO-64 . ]

The Macau-Taipa bridge seen from Vulcania. It is one of Macau's 3 bridges that links Macau with Taipa City.
[Nikon E5900. 11mm Focal Length. F/5.4 . Exposure 1/890. ISO-64 . ]

A tourist at the summit of Vulcania. Tourism is the second largest income-generating economy in Macau, second only to the gaming industry. [Nikon E5900. 8mm Focal Length. F/4.8 . Exposure 1/683. ISO-64 . ]

Tourist at the Rome-themed area in Fisherman's Wharf. [Nikon E5900. 8mm Focal Length. F/4.8 . Exposure 1/128. ISO-64 . ] (Spin technique taught by Mitchell :D)

Fisherman's Wharf provides wedding packages for couples. With brilliant scenery and accurate replicas of foreign architecture, it is almost the perfect photo shoot location. [Nikon E5900. 23mm Focal Length. F/8.2 . Exposure 1/233. ISO-64 . ]

The gaming industry is the main industry that keeps the economy in Macau going. Several economists claim Macau's over reliance on the gaming industry might become Macau's most fatal mistake, especially in times like such. [Nikon E5900. 23mm Focal Length. F/8.2 . Exposure 1/91. ISO-64 . ]

The artificial sky in the Vienna themed The Venetian Casino-hotel. The Venetian also features a central canal offering Gondola rides. [Nikon E5900. 8mm Focal Length. F/2.8 . Exposure 1/60. ISO-120 . ]

The Grand Lisboa Casino. Lisboa has 3 main buildings. The old Lisboa hotel, The Grand Lisboa Casino, and the Grand Lisboa Hotel. [Nikon E5900. 8mm Focal Length. F/4.8 . Exposure 1/448. ISO-64 . ]

Staircases like such leads to back alleys and mazes of cramped service apartments.
Photo 1: [Nikon E5900. 8mm Focal Length. F/2.9 . Exposure 1/147. ISO-64 . ] (Spin technique, credited to Mitchell)
Photo 2: [Nikon E5900. 8mm Focal Length. F/2.8 . Exposure 1/134. ISO-64 . ]

The Ruins of St Paul's. Built from 1582 to 1602 by the Jesuits, the cathedral was the largest Catholic church in Asia at the time, and the royalty of Europe vied with each other to bestow upon the cathedral the best gifts. With the decline in importance of Macau, which was overtaken as the main port for the Pearl river Delta by Hong Kong, the cathedral's fortunes similarly ebbed, and it was destroyed by a fire during a typhoon in 1835.

The façade sits on a small hill, with 66 stone steps leading up to it. The carvings include Jesuit images with Oriental themes, such as a woman stepping on a seven-headed hydra, described by Chinese characters as 'the Holy Mother tramples the heads of the dragon'. A few of the other carvings are the founders of the Jesuit Order, the conquest of Death by Jesus, and at the very top, a dove with wings outstretched.

[Nikon E5900. 8mm Focal Length. F/4.8 . Exposure 1/577. ISO-64 . ]

The Grand Lisboa Hotel-Casino seen from the left window of The Ruins of St Paul's. [Nikon E5900. 8mm Focal Length. F/4.9 . Exposure 1/1953. ISO-64 . ]

Cramped streets flanked by shophouses like such are common in the town area of Macau. Casino-hotel Ponte 16 can bee seen in the background. [Nikon E5900. 13mm Focal Length. F/5.9 . Exposure 1/243. ISO-64 . ]

Done. :) I'd continue part II tml. stay tuned. haha. :)
