Dear Diary...
Bicultural Scholar Award
mardi 7 avril 2009

We had to stay back after school to attend the Bicultural Scholar Award speech finals. Quite entertaining.

For the Sec 2s, I paid full attention as 2 candidates were from the Prefectorial Board :) While the last candidate caught Wei Xuan, the Judges, and my attention. He was brilliant. He handled the impromptu speech really well. One point to note, there is no way I could've spoken the way they had. They're in a different league. LOL.

I was pretty much dreaming for the sec 3 speeches. Was very dry.

Sec 4s. :) Years of experience, the fight was close, and the speeches were engaging. Most of all, the participants were
celebrities. LOL. So they really captured our attention. So the hall was pretty lively when they took the floor, or the stage, in this context.

In my opinion, I really thought Jonathan Koh would have own the contest. His English was good (really good, believe me), his Chinese was JUST AS GOOD. Which was really shocking. Sheng Mao was obviously more comfortable with Chinese compared to English, while Wesley was very much more comfortable with English to compared to Chinese. But Jonathan simply pulled it off.

And the impromptu was very much better. The impromptu, the segment of the competition that has
revealed the true colours of the contestants, simply exemplified Jonathan's versatility.

All that has been said and done, I think the sec 4 contestants were very good. :) There's so much more to improve to reach their standards. :/

The CLDDS's performance was engaging. And their theme was very real. About how modernisation and rapid globalisation has pulled families apart and caused children to neglected. :(

Some pictures... Doubt you can see the people there though. Very bad picture quality.

Homologous Chromosomes after Meiosis 1 :)

Wow.
Ms Fernandez and Mdm Leong.

Blur. But I think that's Terence Yeo, the Champion of the Sec 2 'scholars'

That's Sheng Mao, one of the most popular icons in our school.

And there's Johnathan Koh. I liked his sense of humour. Think he connected really well with the audience.

the CLDDS. They're playing games in an Internet Cafe in that Scene. LOL
Then suddenly "TRIPLE KILLLLL" echoed from the speakers. lol.

And that's Macdonalds. Guess what music played this time.
Start Of Something New from High School Musical. :/

That's a swing and a bench btw. lol
And that's the dad.
We're singing the birthday song. Really!

happy birthday to you, happy birthday to you, happy birthday to youuuuu~, happy birthday to youuuuuuuuu~

Mr Chan Soo Sen. Minister of State, PMO.
