Found out about this awesome movie from Benedict's blog. Interesting plot, albeit flawed with loopholes.

The story is set in Libria, where the world has decided that they will not survive another war after witnessing the events of World War III. The world has reached a general consensus that feeling was the root cause of wars, since the create emotions such as anger, jealousy and fear.

To control the emotions of everyone and implement a state of conformity and uniformity, Libria was run as a police-state with 'The Father', a figurehead leader holding the reins. Also, the drug, called Prozium was distributed at the building called Equilibrium. The drug, which had to be taken regularly, were called intervals.

The elite enforcers of the law were known as the Grammaton clerics. They are usually armed with weirdly shaped pistols. :/ All of them have been taught the deadly martial art known as Gun Kata, developed after analysing centuries of gunfights, so as to develop a method to increase killing efficiency while keeping the shooter safe. The user will be able to predict the actions of his adversaries by rote memorization of the techniques of Gun Kata and thus pre-empting his opponents.

So, Equilibrium is a story of a Cleric who begins to feel by accident. He begins to learn about feeling and finally manages to control it, and help others to feel by assisting the Underground.

Now for the flaws. It's impossible to survive without emotion. Like how did the main character have 2 kids, how did people make decisions, how did the leader lead, how did people know what to do. Confusing stuff. Simply illogical.

But if you put away the flaws and just enjoy the plot and the movie, definitely impressive, especially the ending gun kata scene.
