Dear Diary...
The Last Day?

I was talking to Wei Xuan in class today and we somehow got to the topic of the last day of our lives. And I immediately remembered a Chinese essay I've read regarding this topic. I've roughly translated it into English. So, have fun reading.

It was the last day. The borrowed videos and watched them on the teevee with the kids. They hadn't had a home-cooked meal in a long time, and she promised to cook the next 2 meals with them. They had macaroni for lunch. It had been quite some time since they went to the zoo with the kids. So they went. The mother made burgers for everyone for dinner. They rarely indulged in the kids, but today...

That night they tucked the kids into bed and planted a kiss each on their heads before they went to bed themselves. Then, they heard the sound of dripping water and the mother suddenly remembered to kitchen tap. She turned it off before returning to bed.

Real piece of literature. One would expect the last day of their lives to be full of excitement, however, the author views it as a simple day. So simple, that we can't manage it ourselves. we ask ourselves, we have been spending so much time at work and with work, how long since you took a day off to spend the day with our family. So the author is trying to imply that, sometimes, it is that difficult to live simply, that it might be probably the final day of our lives, we learn to embrace our family and be content with what we have. And and and...that maybe, just maybe, we will live our last day, simply happy.
