Dear Diary...
Thank you (two)
mardi 30 décembre 2008

THANK YOU Adrian 大哥 and Warren lao ba!

Looking back, this year hasn't been the smoothest I have had. Eventful he had been. Fruitful probably. Adventurous or maybe misadventurous.

Definitely had lost hope more than once. But 2 days and 3 hours before 2009, my 2 seniors woke me up from my piteous dream, my deep sleep. Foolish I had been. Lamenting too much over my losses. Struggling to find the silver lining in the dark cloud, I almost became 1 of the thousands who got struck by lightning doing so.

Thank you 2 for making me dare to do what I do best again. Dreaming Big.

Although 10A1s seem difficult, it isn't impossible. Right Adrian?

I have also come up with a nice explanation of 'process' after talking to 2 of them. Why is process deemed as important by many people when the mercenary society often looks only at the result? I answered this question with...physics.

Let's say you are doing a physics practical assessment. Maybe calculating the period of a pendulum bob. Because the earth is rotating, there is no guarantee that the bob will move in a straight track, this will eventually lead to inaccuracies in your results. Thus, having a good process will help you arrive at good results. Pay more attention to the bob, make no mistake in your experiment, and let nature take its course. the result cannot be perfect. You cannot control the environment. You cannot stop the earth from rotating, you cannot stop the moon from revolving. Somehow, there will be external factors that would affect your experiment, and affect your results. However, when you have done what you could have possibly done at your best, you will achieve the best results you can possibly achieve. there's nothing much to resent over after that. So, that's how much process matters. You cannot control what your result will be because the environment affects the results, and the environment is something you cannot control. Other than the environment, process also affects the results and that is probably the only thing you have a control over. So, all we can do, is to make good use of 'process' to achieve maximum results.

simply physics. :) haha.

Dear Diary...
Malaysia. again.
mardi 23 décembre 2008

Back from Malaysia. Extremely boring. needs no further elaboration. Pictures speak a thousand words. Let them speak for themselves.

Interior of the Airebus Business class coach. Supposed to take executive class (which is the lower end double decker). But ended up that executive class coach not running, so we got the business class single deck coach instead. haha! upgrade! Better food, nicer seats, and a 10.2" LCD screen. WOW.

Hohoho. My hotel room :D. and i mean. MINE. lol. Only me. What a luxury. totally insane. Cos my grandma had other 'appointments' and only stayed for a night. So i had the whole room to myself for about... 3 nights. And I totally LOVE discovery channel. I need cable TV.

Familiar name?

Work of a burglar. Burglar made a hole in that ceiling, probably the sofa was acting as a ladder. So the burglar went in, and made another hole in the adjacent flat, (my grandma's flat) and well, he took as much as he could.

Before...

After

Sofa smashed into smithereens to prevent further thefts... All done with a hammer. I'm a destructive kid? maybe.

see that? Jackie Chan (chen long) and dinosaur (kong long) brothers of oddity.

I seriously think there is a new language out there. Chinglish does exist. I'm quite sure about that...

DOMOKUN!

Prison break! Cool figurines. But...they cost 2 bombs.

MR MRAZ!!! haha.

My black sports car. Ok. Not exactly mine. Not my dream car either. But it's my cousin's! haha. I'm going to bet it is a Mazda Rx-7 FC3S. tailights gave it away although there was no obvious indication what marque this is. Noisy car. Old too. About 2 decades.

MANHATTAN FISH MARKET.
Too much fried food. I really was afraid of looking at all the fried food after finishing my fish and chips. Feeling very nauseous. Too much flour. But not too bad overall. They were flexible. haha

Oh ya oh ya. I heard Taylor Swift in a shop! :D Shopkeeper was playing Christmas carosl when i heard Last Christmas sung by Taylor Swift. :)

Panasonic earphones...

Thanks. I appreciate the thought haha. But it isn't exactly what i am looking for.... :/ I tried it on...it didn't really feel comfortable. :S And I don't really like earphones which try to tell the whole world that the user is listening to music. :/ But, the sound is quite okayy, at least better than my busted Phillips one. Pity the jack isn't gold-plated, unlike my Phillips one. :(

Miley Cyrus & John Travolta - I Thought I Lost You
jeudi 18 décembre 2008

MILEY:

Nobody listens to me
Don’t hear a single thing I've said
Say anything to soothe me
Anything to get you from my head
Don't know how I really feel
The faith it takes to make like I don't care
Don’t know how much it hurts
To turn around like you were never there
Like somehow you could be replaced
And I could walk away from the promises we made
And swore we’d never break

MILEY AND TRAVOLTA CHORUS:

I thought I lost you (when you ran away to try to find me)
I thought I’d never see your sweet face again
I turned around and you were gone and on and on the days went
But I kept the moments that we were in
'cause I hoped in my heart you'd come back to me, my friend
And now I got you, but I thought I lost you

TRAVOLTA:

I felt so empty out there
And there were days I had my doubts
But I knew I'd find you somewhere
Because I knew I couldn't live without
You in my life for one more day
And I swore I'd never break those (promises we made)

MILEY AND TRAVOLTA CHORUS:

I thought I lost you when you ran away to try to find me
I thought I’d never see your sweet face again
I turned around and you were gone and on and on the days went
But I kept the moments that we were in
'cause I hoped in my heart you'd come back to me, my friend
And now I got you, but I thought I lost you

TRAVOLTA:

I told myself I wouldn’t sleep 'till I searched the world from sea to sea

MILEY:

I made a wish upon a star, I turned around and there you were

MILEY AND TRAVOLTA:

Now here we are, are

MILEY:

Here we are
I thought I lost you

TRAVOLTA:

I thought I lost you, too

MILEY:

I thought I lost you

TRAVOLTA:

I thought I lost you

MILEY:

Yeah

MILEY AND TRAVOLTA CHORUS:

I thought I lost you when you ran away to try to find me
I thought I’d never see your sweet face again
I turned around and you were gone and on and on the days went
But I kept the moments that we were in
And I knew in my heart you'd come back to me, my friend
And now I got you, but I thought I lost you

MILEY:

But I thought I lost you

TRAVOLTA:

I thought I lost you, too

BOTH:

So glad I got you, got you

MILEY:

So glad I got you, yeah yeah
I thought I lost you

TRAVOLTA:

I thought I lost you, too

Dear Diary...
Fearless

FEARLESS.

Oh yea, I'm gonna do a 'review' on Taylor Swift's Fearless. Listened to every song a couple of times. I guess my favourite songs from this album are: White Horse, You Belong With Me and Hey Stephen. The songs from this album or artist, as usual boasts good lyrics, rhythm and, the beat is real catchy for some songs. :D

But I think one song kinda disappoints. The song entitled Fearless. Somehow, she can't seem to fit the word Fearless into the song. It kinda feels that the word 'Fearless' is a little unnecessary in the song...

Nevertheless, this album is errr..great. haha. Singer/Songwriter has got lots of talent. beautiful voice. Give it a run for your money. It wouldn't disappoint.

Marathon
mardi 16 décembre 2008

Ran one-tenth of a marathon this afternoon around 12.
4.2 km. haha. Was very tired after that distance. Leg muscles started cramping as soon as I was stationary. Has been a long time since i ran, so much. Sir Warren lb 1 round slower than me. haha.

Badminton with Sir Warren lb was dam funny. The wind was very helpful. haha. He can't serve properly :S It was really very funny, you must be there to experience the insanity of the wind and everything. haha. We were practically laughing our heads off. We had to stop playing half an hour before schedule due to something very unexpected. (No Ben, not the shopping.)

Went home, showered. Had no idea what to wear :S So I just put on what i first set my eyes on, before heading to Junction 8 early to shop for something for Sir Anthony. (Which reminds me, both huiyang and wei kit owes Ben, YH and me MONEY! PAY UP TML!!!) Dinner with the other top 5 (HY was absent) and Sir Anthony. The special guest, Senior Samuel did not turn up. haha. I ate forest of mushrooms. (Cheapest on the list what, don't want burn hold in other's pockets) :D Wei Kit at Spicy Seafood Pasta, which cost 40 cents more than my meal. haha. The other 3 ate Fish and Chips. We talked more than we ate. We waited longer than we ate also. Talked about our HOLIDAY TRAINING, NS, NCC (and how screwed it always is and will be). Talked about the screw ups at HQ events (oh don't remind us). Quite an enjoyable evening. Sir Anthony also discarded his old look for something else... The hair....isn't neatly combed anymore. He looked, different.

It was quite funny when we actually couldn't recognise him at first.

*looks around*

"nah, not sir anthony"
*wait...he looks familiar....*

Dear Diary...
James Grippando - Beyond Suspicion
vendredi 12 décembre 2008

A very, very, very twisty thriller. I've read it, and it didn't disappoint. As a crime novel, it leads you to think who that murderer was. And as the title has already said, the real murderer, is beyond suspicion. Never in my wildest dreams did I expect that person to be the murderer. Very well-planned plot and character detail that leads you to think wrongly, suspect wrongly, and on the last chapter, surprised and deceived totally.

For smart, tough Miami criminal lawyer Jack Swyteck, it was a golden opportunity to help out his beautiful ex-girlfriend Jessie Merrill, who sold her life insurance for a cash payment when she wrongly believed she was dying. Now, thanks to Jack's courtroom prowess, Jessie can keep the $1.5 million she received. But it turns out that Swyteck and the insurance company are both victims of a gorgeous scam artist. And when Jessie's lifeless corpse is discovered in his bathtub, the attorney is suddenly wanted for murder. Framed and desperate - on the run from the police and a powerful criminal consortium willing to go to any lengths to retrieve the money - Jack must exhume the dark secrets of a buried past to save his freedom, his career, his life. But even his unique legal skills cannot keep him out of the murderous sights of a cold killer - one who wants Jack Swyteck's blood...and is Beyond Suspicion.

Very exciting. My heart was pounding as I cautiously fingered for the pages and flipped slowly. Thrilling thriller. Armchair adrenaline.

Dear Diary...
Love Story by Taylor Swift......NOT!
jeudi 11 décembre 2008

haha. Nope. not talking about the song Love Story by taylor swift...
But something else of the same title from pravsworld.com haha

There was once a guy who suffered from cancer... a cancer that can't be treated. He was 18 years old and he could die anytime. All his life, he was stuck in his house being taken cared by his mother. He never went outside but he was sick of staying home and wanted to go out for once.

So he asked his mother and she gave him permission. He walked down his block and found a lot of stores. He passed a CD store and looked through the front door for a second as he walked. He stopped and went back to look into the store. He saw a young girl about his age and he knew it was love at first sight. He opened the door and walked in, not looking at anything else but her. He walked closer and closer until he was finally at the front desk where she sat.

She looked up and asked Can I help you She smiled and he thought it was the most beautiful smile he has ever seen before and wanted to kiss her right there.

He said Uh... Yeah... Umm... I would like to buy a CD. He picked one out and gave her money for it.

Would you like me to wrap it for you she asked, smiling her cute smile again.

He nodded and she went to the back.

She came back with the wrapped CD and gave it to him. He took it and walked out of the store. He went home and from then on, he went to that store everyday and bought a CD, and she wrapped it for him. He took the CD home and put it in his closet. He was still too shy to ask her out and he really wanted to but he couldn't. His mother found out about this and told him to just ask her.

So the next day, he took all his courage and went to the store. He bought a CD like he did everyday and once again she went to the back of the store and came back with it wrapped. He took it and when she wasn't looking, he left his phone number on the desk and ran out...

!!!RRRRRING!!!

The mother picked up the phone and said, Hello

It was the girl!!! She asked for the boy and the mother started to cry and said, You don't know He passed away yesterday...

The line was quiet except for the cries of the boy's mother.

Later in the day. the mother went into the boy's room because she wanted to remember him. She thought she would start by looking at his clothes. So she opened the closet. She was face to face with piles and piles and piles of unopened CDs. She was surprised to find all those CDs and she picked one up and sat down on the bed and she started to open one.

Inside, there was a CD and as she took it out of the wrapper, out fell a piece of paper. The mother picked it up and started to read it.

It said Hi... I think U R really cute. Do u wanna go out with me Love, Jacelyn

The mother opened another CD...

Again there was a piece of paper. It said Hi... I think U R really cute. Do u wanna go out with me Love, Jacelyn

Love is... when you've had a huge fight but then decide to put aside your egos, hold hands and say, I Love You.

Dear Diary...
Dreams.
vendredi 5 décembre 2008

The first day of school our professor introduced himself and challenged us to get to know someone we didn't already know. I stood up to look around when a gentle hand touched my shoulder.

I turned around to find a wrinkled, little old lady beaming up at me with a smile that that lit up her entire being.

She said, "Hi, handsome. My name is Rose. I'm eighty-seven years old. Can I give you a hug?" I laughed and enthusiastically responded, "Of course you may!" and she gave me a giant squeeze.

"Why are you in college at such a young, innocent age?" I asked.

She jokingly replied, "I'm here to meet a rich husband, get married, have a couple of children, and then retire and travel."

"No seriously," I asked. I was curious what may have motivated her to be taking on this challenge at her age.

"I always dreamed of having a college education and now I'm getting one!" she told me.

After class we walked to the student union building and share a chocolate milkshake. We became instant friends. Every day for the next three months we would leave class together and talk nonstop. I was always mesmerized listening to this "time machine" as she shared her wisdom and experience with me.

Over the course of the year, Rose became a campus icon and she easily made friends wherever she went. She loved to dress up and she reveled in the attention bestowed upon her from the other students. She was living it up.

At the end of the semester we invited Rose to speak at our football banquet. I'll never forget what she taught us. She was introduced and stepped up to the podium. As she began to deliver her prepared speech, she dropped her three by five cards on the floor. Frustrated and a little embarrassed she leaned into the microphone and simply said, "I'm sorry I'm so jittery. I gave up beer for Lent and this whiskey is killing me! I'll never get my speech back in order so let me just tell you what I know."

As we laughed she cleared her throat and began: "We do not stop playing because we are old; we grow old because we stop playing. There are only four secrets to staying young, being happy, and achieving success. "You have to laugh and find humor every day. You've got to have a dream. When you lose your dreams, you die. We have so many people walking around who are dean and don't even know it!"

"There is a huge difference between growing older and growing up. If you are nineteen years old and lie in bed for one full year and don't do one productive thing, you will turn twenty years old. If I am eighty-seven years old and stay in bed for a year and never do anything I will turn eighty-eight. Anybody can grow older. That doesn't take any talent or ability. The idea is to grow up by always finding the opportunity in change."

"Have no regrets. The elderly usually don't have regrets for what we did, but rather for things we did not do. The only people who fear death are those with regrets."

She concluded her speech by courageously singing The Rose. She challenged each of us to study the lyrics and live them out in our daily lives. At the years end Rose finished the college degree she had begun all those years ago.

One week after graduation Rose died peacefully in her sleep.

Over two thousand college students attended her funeral in tribute to the wonderful woman who taught by example that it's never too late to be all you can possibly be.

If you read this, please send this peaceful word of advise to your fiends and family. We send these words in loving memory of ROSE.

Remember, GROWING OLDER IS MANDATORY, GROWING UP IS OPTIONAL.

wonder who once said total defence was optional...

Dear Diary...
What goes around...

His name was Fleming, and he was a poor Scottish farmer.

One day, while trying to make a living for his family, he heard a cry for help coming from a nearby bog. He dropped his tools and ran to the bog. There, mired to his waist in black muck, was a terrified boy, screaming and struggling to free himself. Farmer Fleming saved the lad from what could have been a slow and terrifying death.

The next day, a fancy carriage pulled up to the Scotsman's sparse surroundings. An elegantly dressed nobleman stepped out and introduced himself as the father of the boy Farmer Fleming had saved.

"I want to repay you," said the nobleman. "You saved my son's life."

"No, I can't accept payment for what I did," the Scottish farmer replied, waving off the offer.

At that moment, the farmer's own son came to the door of the family hovel. "Is that your son?" the nobleman asked.

"Yes," the farmer replied proudly.

"I'll make you a deal. Let me provide him with the level of education my own son will enjoy. If the lad is anything like his father, he'll no doubt grow to be a man we both will be proud of."

And that he did.
This one's interersting. haha!

Farmer Fleming's son attended the very best schools and in time, he graduated from St. Mary's Hospital Medical School in London, and went on to become known throughout the world as the noted Sir Alexander Fleming, the discoverer of Penicillin.

Years afterward, the same nobleman's son who was saved from the bog was stricken with pneumonia. What saved his life this time?

Penicillin.

The name of the nobleman? Lord Randolph Churchill.

His son's name? Sir Winston Churchill.

Someone once said:
"What goes around comes around."
Work like you don't need the money.
Love like you've never been hurt.
Dance like nobody's watching.
Sing like nobody's listening.
Live like it's Heaven on Earth.

Dear Diary...
Power of words.

A group of frogs were traveling through the woods, and two of them fell into a deep pit. All the other frogs gathered around the pit. When they saw how deep the pit was, they told the two frogs that they were as good as dead.

The two frogs ignored the comments and tried to jump up out of the pit with all of their might. The other frogs kept telling them to stop, that they were as good as dead. Finally, one of the frogs took heed to what the other frogs were saying and gave up. He fell down and died.

The other frog continued to jump as hard as he could. Once again, the crowd of frogs yelled at him to stop the pain and just die. He jumped even harder and finally made it out.

When he got out, the other frogs said, "Did you not hear us?" The frog explained to them that he was deaf. He thought they were encouraging him the entire time.

This story gives us thoughts to think about:
1. An encouraging word to someone who is down can encourage them to achieve their goal.
2. A destructive word to someone who is down can have negative effects. Be careful of what you say.

The quote below was sent to me by Master Mark Russell. His quote describes "words" very accurately:
"Words:
The Snow may look smooth and soft,
but the rocks underneath are sharp!"

One last point,
Are your words encouraging?

Dear Diary...
The Emperor and the seed

An emperor in the Far East was growing old and knew it was time to choose his successor. Instead of choosing one of his assistants or his children, he decided something different. He called young people in the kingdom together one day. He said, "It is time for me to step down and choose the next emperor. I have decided to choose one of you."

The kids were shocked! But the emperor continued. "I am going to give each one of you a seed today. One very special seed. I want you to plant the seed, water it and come back here after one year from today with what you have grown from this one seed. I will then judge the plants that you bring, and the one I choose will be the next emperor!"

One boy named Ling was there that day and he, like the others, received a seed. He went home and excitedly told his mother the story. She helped him get a pot and planting soil, and he planted the seed and watered it carefully. Every day he would water it and watch to see if it had grown. After about three weeks, some of the other youths began to talk about their seeds and the plants that were beginning to grow.

Ling kept checking his seed, but nothing ever grew. 3 weeks, 4 weeks, 5 weeks went by. Still nothing. By now, others were talking about their plants but Ling didn't have a plant, and he felt like a failure. Six months went by, still nothing in Ling's pot. He just knew he had killed his seed.

Everyone else had trees and tall plants, but he had nothing. Ling didn't say anything to his friends, however. He just kept waiting for his seed to grow.

A year finally went by and all the youths of the kingdom brought their plants to the emperor for inspection. Ling told his mother that he wasn't going to take an empty pot. But honest about what happened, Ling felt sick to his stomach, but he knew his mother was right. He took his empty pot to the palace. When Ling arrived, he was amazed at the variety of plants grown by the other youths. They were beautiful in all shapes and sizes. Ling put his empty pot on the floor and many of the other kinds laughed at him. A few felt sorry for him and just said, "Hey nice try."

When the emperor arrived, he surveyed the room and greeted the young people. Ling just tried to hide in the back. "What great plants, trees and flowers you have grown," said the emperor. "Today, one of you will be appointed the next emperor!" All of a sudden, the emperor spotted Ling at the back of the room with his empty pot. He ordered his guards to bring him to the front. Ling was terrified. "The emperor knows I'm a failure! Maybe he will have me killed!"

When Ling got to the front, the Emperor asked his name. "My name is Ling," he replied. All the kids were laughing and making fun of him. The emperor asked everyone to quiet down. He looked at Ling, and then announced to the crowd, "Behold your new emperor! His name is Ling!" Ling couldn't believe it. Ling couldn't even grow his seed. How could he be the new emperor?

Then the emperor said, "One year ago today, I gave everyone here a seed. I told you to take the seed, plant it, water it, and bring it back to me today. But I gave you all boiled seeds, which would not grow. All of you, except Ling, have brought me trees and plants and flowers. When you found that the seed would not grow, you substituted another seed for the one I gave you. Ling was the only one with the courage and honesty to bring me a pot with my seed in it. Therefore, he is the one who will be the new emperor!"

If you plant honesty, you will reap trust.
If you plant goodness, you will reap friends.
If you plant humility, you will reap greatness.
If you plant perseverance, you will reap victory.
If you plant consideration, you will reap harmony.
If you plant hard work, you will reap success.
If you plant forgiveness, you will reap reconciliation.
If you plant openness, you will reap intimacy.
If you plant patience, you will reap improvements.
If you plant faith, you will reap miracles.

But
If you plant dishonesty, you will reap distrust.
If you plant selfishness, you will reap loneliness.
If you plant pride, you will reap destruction.
If you plant envy, you will reap trouble.
If you plant laziness, you will reap stagnation.
If you plant bitterness, you will reap isolation.
If you plant greed, you will reap loss.
If you plant gossip, you will reap enemies.
If you plant worries, you will reap wrinkles.
If you plant sin, you will reap guilt.

So be careful what you plant now, It will determine what you will reap tomorrow, The seeds you now scatter, Will make life worse or better, your life or the ones who will come after. Yes, someday, you will enjoy the fruits, or you will pay for the choices you plant today.

Dear Diary...
How Poor We Are.

One day a father and his rich family took his son to a trip to the country with the firm purpose to show him how poor people can be. They spent a day and a night in the farm of a very poor family. When they got back from their trip the father asked his son, "How was the trip?"

"Very good Dad!" replied his son.

"Did you see how poor people can be?" the father asked.

"Yeah!"

"And what did you learn?"

The son answered, "I saw that we have a dog at home, and they have four. We have a pool that reaches to the middle of the garden; they have a creek that has no end. We have imported lamps in the garden; they have the stars. Our patio reaches to the front yard, they have a whole horizon." When the little boy was finishing, his father was speechless.

His son added, "Thanks Dad for showing me how poor we are!"

Our outlook on life depends on the way you look at things. What others may think as riches, others may want. The most important things in life are your friends, family, health, good humor and a positive attitude towards life. If you have these then you have everything!

Dear Diary...
Answered Prayers.

A voyaging ship was wrecked during a storm at sea and only two of the men on it were able to swim to a small, desert like island. The two survivors, not knowing what else to do, agreed that they had no other recourse but to pray to God. However, to find out
whose prayer was more powerful, they agreed to divide the territory between them and stay on opposite sides of the island.

The first thing they prayed for was food. The next morning, the first man saw a fruit-bearing tree on his side of the land, and he was able to eat its fruit. The other man's parcel of land remained barren.

After a week, the first man was lonely and he decided to pray for a wife. The next day, another ship was wrecked, and the only
survivor was a woman who swam to his side of the land. On the other side of the island, there was nothing.

Soon the first man prayed for a house, clothes, more food. The next day, like magic, all of these were given to him. However, the
second man still had nothing.

Finally, the first man prayed for a ship, so that he and his wife would leave the island. In the morning, he found a ship docked at
his side of the island.

The first man boarded the ship with his wife and decided to leave the second man on the island. He considered the other man unworthy to receive God's blessings, since none of his prayers had been answered. As the ship was about to leave, the first man heard a voice from heaven booming, "Why are you leaving your companion on the island?"

"My blessings are mine alone, since I was the one who prayed for them," the first man answered. "His prayers were all unanswered
and so he does not deserve anything."

"You are mistaken!" the voice rebuked him. "He had only one prayer, which I answered. If not for that, you would not have received any of my blessings."

"Tell me," the first man asked the voice, "What did he pray for that I should owe him anything?" "He prayed that all your prayers be answered."

For all we know, our blessings are not the fruits of our prayers alone, but those of another praying for us.

Dear Diary...
Lessons of Life.

Content from an email I received...

Don't let someone become a priority in your life,
when you are just an option in their life...
Relationships work best balanced.

Never explain yourself to anyone,
Because the person who likes you doesn't need it,
and the person would dislikes you won't believe it.

When you keep saying you are busy,
Then you're never free.

When you keep saying you have no time,
Then you'll never have time.

When you keep saying that you will do it tomorrow,
Then your tomorrow will never come.

When we wake up in the morning, we have two simple choices. Go back to sleep and dream, or wake up and chase those dreams. Choice is yours.

We make them cry who care for us.
We cry for those who never care for us.
And we care for those who never cry for us.
This is the truth of life, it's strange but true.
Once you realise this, it's never too late to change.

Don't make promise when you are in joy.
Don't reply when you are sad.
Don't take decision when you are angry.
Think twice, act wise.

Time is like a river,
You cannot touch the same water twice,
Because the flow that as passed will never pass again.
Enjoy every moment of life...

First I was dying to finish high school and start college. And then I was dying to finish college and start working. Then I was dying to marry and have children. And then I was dying for my children to grow old enough so i could go back to work. But then I was dying to retire. And now I'm dying. And suddenly, I realised i forgot to live.

All these come from pravsworld.com, according to the email.

Dear Diary...
COC Dec '08
jeudi 4 décembre 2008

I'm not going to bore you all with the entire sequence and detail of the Change of Command Parade i participated in, but I'll just publish short, interesting portions of the entire 2 days.

1. Sunburn. ow.
2. sunburn. ow.
3. sunburn. ow.
4. Clowns.
5. lovely part mates.
6. bye, spec course.
7. parade.
8. aww. don't cry.
9. line of honour.
10. Home.

1.2.3. Sunburn. Sun dam hot for the past few days. Neck hurts. :( We met Snr Sp and Snr Warren dere also haha.

4. Stupid clowns. No, we don't smoke.

5. Gahh, the whole box of magazines drop on floor while i helped someone with his bayonet, and my rifle slid off the metal railing/bum rest, knocking over the magazines. All those clowns could do was "ohhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh~...." But thank god for my lovely part mates who helped put the mags back into the box. Thanks guys. kudos.

6. Spec course shirt lost. :( One and only one. Gone alr. Clowns. Fools. Jokers. NCC is the pinnacle of inefficiency and the miscommunication within the cadet superiors, place the cadets, at the brunt of their abuse. This is what happened. GOH went up to CLT bunk for their break. A Land CLT said we can do anything we want until we fall in later to get our rifle straps. We were in our half no.1 then. We later received false information (which we didn't know was false then) to change into FULL NO.1 . So we did. When we later went down to collect our rifle straps, we were questioned by our Air CLT, then scolded. Then, we were given 1 minute to get changed into our HALF NO.1 AGAIN. So, i took my Spec Course shirt from my dust cover, placed it on a mattress, unbuttoned my No.1 top (with much difficulty). Then, i realised my Spec course shirt vanished. Almost had nothing to wear. Engulfed in a state of panic. Thanks to my part mates again for calming me down and helping me look for help. :) And thanks to yonghwee for lending me his spare shirt to wear. otherwise i no need go home lo. Bye Spec course shirt. :( i'll miss u... thank you Rasis anyway, for helping me find it too. haha.

FYI, after changed and went down to get our rifle straps, we were told to go up and change into our Full No.1. Whiskey Tango Foxtrot. Charlie Lima Oscar Whiskey November Sierra!

7. Parade. Hot. Scratched a lot before the parade. Damn scared during parade i need to adjust cannot adjust. Make sure my peak cap will not fall off. Oh yes, and the fruit plus sweets. The Encik Low took the sweets that the Clt was passing down away, saying, "parade want to start already lah, eat what sweet." He gave the 2 packets of sweets to the CLT, asking him to keep it. The Clt then walked to everyone of us, placing 1 sweet in our hand, at the same time saying, "Don't eat already ah, don't eat ah." until the Warrant officer walked away. lol. Funny. Dr Arthur Beng's speech dam long.

8. Our ex-commandant, LTC Stuart Khoo Teng Huat cried when he said the last sentence of his speech. :( So sad. He sounded very normal for the whole speech, until that last sentence. Hai. Who wants to leave luh.

9. Line of Honour. After the parade. The entire population of the NCC cadets participating in the parade formed what we called the Line of Honour, which leads from the gate of the NCC campus, to the drive-around outside the main NCC facade. There, we waited...and waited...waved at bicycles...and later waved at the outgoing commandant. Then we applauded for our all new Commando Commandant. Welcome to NCC. haha.

10. Home. Wouldn't have made it home without yonghwee's shirt. yonghwee's dad was also kind to offer us a lift to the MRT station. Thanks uncle. :)
